As I hold my son on my lap watching President Obama, my heart is full and my eyes are teary. I can now give my children the promise that change and hope are never extinct. I have seen the unbelievable with my own eyes. I have witnessed history. I have seen that when we stand up together and join our voices and our hearts, nothing is out of reach.

Amen to that. I keep going back and forth between smiling and crying today. I'm just so, so happy that Obama will be our next president.

When I went to work yesterday, all the "liberals" I know were walking on cloud 9. Several of them said that they felt like they could hold their heads up for a change and that they felt proud at the results. It's an amazing thing that so many people were affected so deeply. It brought out emotions that were quite unexpected. One guy told me that he was surprised at the depth of his reaction. I think that a lot of us have pushed our feelings down over the last 8 years and now we feel like we can come out of hiding. I'm full of hope and am excited to see what happens in the next 4 yrs.
